❄️🎄GIVE JOY NOT THINGS - Picture calander 2020 🎁🎄
Christmas is the time of contemplation and charity! Therefore this year give a better future to the people of Nepal and support our project in Charka Bhot, a remote village in the Dolpo region. For a minimum donation of only 20€ (+ shipping) you will receive an exclusive picture calendar 2020. Many thanks to our volunteer photographer @Thomas Geiger who gives an authentic insight into the landscape, culture and people of this mountain village at over 4000 m with his pictures. Every year we accumulate more possessions, buy things that are not really needed and get dusty in the corner. These children need clean drinking water, warm classrooms to guarantee sufficient education, which is a sustainable way out of the spiral of poverty. Support our project and give these children a dignified future! If you are interested simply pay here via our donation function, write us a private message with your address or come to us in Vorarlberg to pick up the calendar. In addition, donations to Chay Ya are tax deductible: steuer-absetzen@chay-ya.com.

Opening of our First Birth Clinic in Palungtar!
On October 17th the new COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER IN PALUNGTAR was opened with the great support of the Mayor and his Deputy Mayor and an impressive audience of 95% women. The new Health and Birth Post provides a safe and clean environment for childbirth and is therefore an important step for the empowerment of women in this region. The health post will also be a focal point for primary health care for everyone and thus an important part of the sustainable development of Nepal's society. It includes a delivery room, two rooms for in-patient admission, a pharmacy and sanitary facilities. The community in Palungtar was so enthusiastic about the plan that they extended the building by a second floor from their own financing. We are very happy that the community in Palungtar supported the construction and the opening with such enthusiasm.
Many thanks to the Red CHAIRity Foundation and the State of Vorarlberg for the financing!

Thanks to you! We reached 6000 flood victims in Nepal!
Unbelievable what can be achieved in a short time if "ma zemma hilft"! In the last three weeks we were able to reach over 600 families, i.e. over 6000 people, with aid packages in 15 different villages! 600 families were provided with food, water purification tablets, etc. and tent tarpaulins - THANK YOU - 100% of your donation went directly to the flood victims in Nepal! (More details in the "Vorarlberger Nachrichten" report by Heidi Rinke Jarosch).
Unfortunately it is still raining, and many people are waiting under the tarpaulins - but now at least dry and supplied with food and clean water. As soon as the tide goes back, the houses have to be rebuilt and the mud has to be skimmed off in the still intact houses.
We would like to supply more villages and are happy about donations and thank you very much for your trust and support.
Update August 2019
In the last three weeks we were able to provide more families with bitterly needed supplies and thus reach a total of over 600 families! Thanks to your support, we will be able to work together in the coming weeks to provide essential relief supplies to needy families.

School for more than 80 children, and extension to secondary school
Laying the foundation stone of the Shree Tharebir School - a new and earthquake-proof school for more than 80 children, as well as an extension of the Hauptschule - A big thank you to our fantastic donors Carnevali Foundation (Giuseppe Carnevali and Jackie Carnevali), Chay Ya Nepal and the community of Gokarna, Kathmandu! Special thanks to our great team: Kamal Thapa, Santosh Silwal, Nishant Jung Gautam, Ram Maharjan, Kriti Basnet, Surendra K Shahi and Sabine Klotz!
10000 Thanks to the Carnevali Foundation and Giuseppe Carnevali / Jackie Carnevali!

Kids with disabilities on their own legs!
TODAY 19.05.2019 was a very MOVING day at the HRDC Hospital - Putting children on their OWN Bones! Thanks to all donors - 100% of the donation goes directly to Nepal! Today I was with the great Wolfgang Bartl from "Let the Children walk" in the HRDC - this super great hospital does everything from the operation to the prosthesis, and even a classroom and a teacher are there now thanks to Wolfgang and team! Our first three children from the Supa School will probably be operated in autumn - 1400 Euro per child - gives a new life!
Thanks also to Alice Hölder and Team, who support us so great from Germany!

NEw Project
Organic model farm in Ghunsa: Together with our partner organisation Roots for Life, we are building a model farm for organic vegetable cultivation in Ghunsa, Solukhumbu, among other things with your donations and the support of the Vorarlberg provincial government. Here, under the guidance of experts, old things are to be preserved and new things tried out in order to improve the supply situation of the families and create new sources of income in the future.
Waste Recycling Palungtar
This project for the treatment and disposal of solid waste in Palungtar aims at introducing a more efficient and environmentally friendly system in the community, where organic waste is composted and not recycled. At the same time, an awareness of waste recycling in the local population is to be created and disseminated through information material. The supporting group of the project is the existing women's group in Palungtar. After 18 months, the waste recycling plant should not only finance itself, but also create an income for at least 30 women by selling the extracted compost (organic waste) and the raw materials (inorganic waste). This is possible thanks to your donations, the Zünd Foundation and the financial support of the government of Nepal.

Good News
Bodo Peters, chairman of the German association "Die Bambusschule e.V." since 2006, visited Vorarlberg in June. For 12 years, the "Bamboo School" has been committed to improving the health and education of the mountain population in Northern Laos - until recently with great success. Since the new government of the communist country makes the use of qualified volunteers practically impossible, Peters was looking for an alternative - and met our chairwoman Sabine Klotz. The chemistry between the two was right from the start, and both clubs are also working in similar ways. So what could be more obvious than working together? In the meantime, a joint MoU has already been signed and the first project decided was the construction of a boarding school for the children of semi-nomads in the Dolpo region. Sabine Klotz is happy about the support and Bodo Peters is happy to have found new goals for money and experience instead of closing the "Bamboo School": "Whether Laos or Nepal - we help where it is necessary and where we can be helped!
