Privacy policy

The CHAY YA association is particularly concerned about the protection and security of your personal data. We therefore process your data exclusively on the basis of the applicable legal regulations (DSGVO, DSG, TKG etc.) and take technical and organizational measures to ensure data security, so that personal data is used properly and not made available to unauthorized persons.

The Chay Ya association as well as its service providers (“processors”) are obliged to maintain secrecy and confidentiality with regard to data disclosed by users of the website, unless there is a legally-permissible reason for the transmission or disclosure of such data.

In this privacy policy is detailed how and which, to what extent and for what purpose, personal data is collected, used or stored by the CHAY YA association.

How does CHAY YA use your data?

We distinguish between two types of data: pseudonymized and personal data.

Pseudonymized data cannot be assigned to you as a person and concerns items such as the browser and operating system you use to view our site. We use such data to improve our site and, for example, to correct display errors on certain systems. For this purpose we use the Google Analytics service (see below).

Personal data, on the other hand, can be assigned to you. We collect such data when you enter your e-mail address, postal address, telephone or fax number or your name in order to make a donation or subscribe to our newsletter. We use this data to process and thank you for your donation and to transfer it to your local tax office for tax deductibility.

If you have given us your consent, we will also use your data to send you our newsletter. The dispatch of our newsletter after your recorded consent as well as the associated statistical evaluations are based on our legitimate interests in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO and serve our business interests as well as the optimization of the desired information transfer to our donors and supporters alike.

After the legal deadline, your personal data will be automatically pseudonymized on our part.

How can you obtain information?

Of course, you can always ask us what personal data we have stored about you. Please contact our chairwoman Sabine Klotz.

Among other things, you can revoke your consent to receive information at any time by email to info@chay-ya.org and/or request the deletion or correction of your data.

Email newsletter

We send our email newsletter, to which you can subscribe here, via the US provider Mailchimp. To subscribe, you have to give us permission to share the data necessary for sending the newsletter with Mailchimp and to store it on the servers of the provider located in the USA. See below for details.

For the purpose of setting up technical protection measures against digital attacks, our server automatically collects and stores information in server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. In concrete terms these are:

    • IP address of the accessing computer
    • Browser and operating system
    • Date and time of the server request
    • used protocol and port

This data cannot be assigned to you as a person. A consolidation of this data with other data sources is only carried out if there is a justified suspicion of illegal use or attempted hacker attacks.

How we log your consent: Double Opt-In

If you subscribe to our newsletter, this will be done in a double opt-in process. This means for you: After your registration you will receive an e-mail in which we ask you to confirm your registration. This confirmation is necessary so that we can prove your consent if necessary. For this purpose, the time of registration and confirmation as well as your IP address will also be saved.
