Project
Patlekharka is a five-hour walk from the government health post in Manbu. Patients – especially mothers, children, disabled people, and emergency patients – had difficulties receiving adequate health care in emergency situations due to the remoteness.
Patlekharka Outreach Clinic provides free essential medical services, awareness for personal hygiene, changes individual approaches to preventive health care, and helps reduce negative stereotypes towards modern health practices. This has led to an improvement in the overall quality of life in the communities. The provision of prenatal and postnatal health services has reduced infant and maternal mortality rates.
In addition to providing general medical treatment, the clinic offers health services for emergencies, mothers and children, and education on health and hygiene. The outpatient clinic consists of OPD, pharmacy and ward room. It also has a room for the working staff who offer their services to the patients 24 hours a day.
