Disability Learning Centers

Our Projects

In Nepal, people with disabilities are traditionally exposed to a high degree of stigmatization and neglect. They are often shunned by their own families because their disability is attributed to “bad karma” and families are ashamed of them. As a result, there is little social inclusion or access to education.

The aim of our Disability Centers is therefore to give these children and teenagers a loving home and to provide them with schooling and practical training. Firstly, their access to the labor market and thus to financial (partial) independence is to be facilitated, plus, their inclusion in the local community should be promoted. In the long term, our goal is to stimulate a change in the way society thinks in order to break down any prejudices.
