CHAY YA USA is located in Bozeman, Montana, at the base of the northwestern Rocky Mountains. The Occidental College graduate, Bill Keller, spent his professional career with several high tech startups in the Boston area culminating in two successful IPO’s. Chay Ya USA (a registered 501(c)3 tax deductible charity) was founded in 2014. Today, as the Chay Ya USA team grows & gains experience, it is focused on women’s & children’s health, women’s empowerment, and local community development. Specifically, Chay Ya USA focuses its fundraising efforts on birthing centers in Tsum Valley & Rautahat, as well as a school for disabled children in Kailali.
William Keller
President Chay Ya USA
Qualification: BA, Occidental College. Thirty plus years in multiple management positions with in the high tech industry culminating with a successful IPO. 15 years experience as a volunteer with in organizations focused on the environment, community development, health & education to disadvantaged communities in remote areas.
Motivation:
The children. Watching their growth in strength, confidence & purpose in the lives of children touched by Chay Ya Nepal. After 5 years working at Shree Supa Inclusive school for the handicapped (Kailali) and the prior years providing health care in remote Himalayan villages to young mothers with their babies, bringing a small portion of physical relief to the elderly, helping a community build a new school, a new birthing center for mothers who may have never seen a doctor, this is what motivates me.
Deanna Campbell
Director for Development Chay Ya USA
Qualifikation: MBA, Master of Business Administration, Pepperdine University and BS, Bachelor of Science in Education. Ten years of teaching experience and ten years experience in private sector executive positions in international marketing. Twenty years of board service on various charitable organizations in US.
Motivation: Taken by the report of villages in Limi Nepal without schools for two generations, Deanna founded an NGO and set about building three schools that continue to operate successfully. In 2018, with an enthusiasm to build much needed birthing centers and assist in the other important work of Chay Ya Nepal, Deanna folded her organization into Chay Ya USA and pursues their joint mission with passion.
Kalvin Moschkau
Member Chay Ya USA
Responsibility: Event coordination, web development, and grant application writing
Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Eagle Scout with project management experience, experience with general construction and volunteer work
Motivation: I believe that time and money invested into improving the livelihoods of the Nepali people is one of the most effective ways of helping those less fortunate around the world. The country of Nepal has a rich culture and history, but is so far behind in infrastructure and development that even minor improvements make a large impact. The people there are receptive, appreciative, and inspiring and show that with the support of those more fortunate, lasting changes can be made on a grand scale.
