Project
Many of the diseases that occur especially in rural Nepal, such as diarrhea, scabies, or skin infections, are due to the very poor hygienic conditions. Chay Ya has therefore made it its business to offer hygiene training at the same time as health projects. The most important point here is toilets – mothers and fathers of children with diarrhea are shown how to break the cycle of pollution with the help of comic posters. The drawings, which are also specially designed for the illiterate, explain how simple hygiene rules can protect the whole family from illness. Free toothpaste, toothbrushes and soap arouse interest in the training and encourage people to follow suit. As a result, personal hygiene has improved greatly in recent years, especially among children.
