COMMUNITY LEARNING CENTER

The Community Learning Center is a community-driven initiative designed to empower women, children, marginalized groups and animals through education, skill-building, conservation and rights. Situated in Mahottari, Nepal, this center will provide accessible training in life skills, financial literacy, animal rights advocacy, health and well-being, agricultural techniques, biproduct packaging and branding, reforestation, and climate change awareness. The center aims to serve as a hub for sustainable development and socio-economic empowerment, fostering self-sufficiency and resilience within the community.

Objectives of the Community Learning Center:

• Empower women & children – Equip them with essential skills to improve their quality of life and economic stability.
• Financial literacy & entrepreneurship – Provide knowledge on savings, investments, and small business development.
• Animal rights advocacy – Promote ethical treatment and welfare of animals within the community.
• Health & well-being – Offer mental health support, hygiene awareness, and first-aid training.
• Sustainable agriculture & food processing – Train individuals in modern and organic farming methods and bi-product utilization.
• Climate change & reforestation – Educate and involve the community in afforestation projects and environmental sustainability initiatives.

To support this, we are planning to construct an eco-friendly building for the community with a training and workshop hall as well as bathrooms and space for a library with a digital learning hub, a health corner for basic medical consultation services, and a product development and branding unit as a facility for the women to market their goods. The outdoor learning space is to be used as an agricultural demonstration plot and a reforestation & climate awareness zone.
