Project
The rural village of Lakkad-Madan in Kamala Municipality, Dhanusha District, is home to families who largely depend on subsistence agriculture. Deep-rooted poverty, limited infrastructure, and restricted market access particularly affect women, who often have little access to education, financial resources, or decision-making power. Many women are confined to traditional roles, which limits their economic independence and reinforces cycles of inequality.
“Seeds of Change – Women Empowerment in Nepal” is a two-year initiative designed to break this cycle by strengthening women’s economic opportunities and leadership. The project will support up to 150 women through vocational training in sustainable agriculture and small business management, financial literacy education, and the formation of women’s cooperatives to improve market access and collective entrepreneurship. By equipping women with practical skills, resources, and organizational support, the program aims to increase household income, enhance food security, and promote long-term resilience.
With a strong focus on gender equality, ecofeminist transformation, and climate resilience, the project seeks to create lasting impact—not only for the women directly involved, but for their families and the wider community—laying the foundation for a more equitable and sustainable future.
