Officially there are only 99 Corona cases in Nepal, but if you don’t test, you won’t find anything. We strongly doubt these official numbers, and also today’s decision of the Nepalese. government’s decision to postpone the curfew again until May 18 (a total of two months) reinforces this assumption. The people are not allowed to work, nor to go to the fields to harvest. Hunger is rampant and far more dangerous than the virus itself. But we try everything to help: our team from Nepal managed to get the coveted exit permits, no easy task, but it was done!

COVID-19-Pandemic in Nepal – Update Apr. 24, 2020

As of 22 April 2020, Nepal has confirmed 45 cases of COVID-19 disease, 7 of them have been recovered. Sukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital is the designated primary hospital for the treatment of COVID-19; isolation wards, makeshift hospitals and quarantine centres have been established throughout the country.

COVID-19 – Nepal needs urgent help for medical staff

While most of us have the luxury to stay in our homes and thereby be protected from COVID-19, it is much harder in Nepal. The people in Nepal are dependent on our help.

There is hardly a health system in place, so it is all the more important to prevent a mass spread of COVID-19.

In order to slow the spread, hygiene is a top priority. Therefore we are trying to import the urgently needed protective suits, masks, disinfectants, glasses etc. from China.
